By supporting the Landis Adult Day Services Golf Outing, you help aging adults who live in the community but need daytime support and care. Participants enjoy meaningful activities and companionship and are assisted with taking medicines and having nutritious meals. You also help family members work or take a break from caregiving.

Joel was just 1,000 miles short of earning his 3 million miles of safe trucking when he encountered a health problem. Unfortunately, it resulted in the loss of his license and work. Devastated, he wasn’t coping well with being home. He loved his job driving a tractor-trailer – sometimes hauling loads from Florida all the way up to Canada.
Eventually, his wife found Landis Adult Day Services (ADS), and Joel began attending. He made friends and reminisces with them about his days on the road and collecting cars. Joel’s sense of humor and quick wit make those around him laugh.
Married 60 years, Joel and his wife have overcome their share of difficulties. The loss of two of their three children and the loss of his ability to drive have been tough.
“The Lord got me through difficult times. Finding peace has been ongoing, but I like the people here and enjoy listening to music—particularly the Oldies,” Joel shared.
This past year, the ADS staff frequently heard from clients and caregivers, “we are so glad you are here.” Clients avoid social isolation by getting out and doing something away from home. At ADS, they can interact with others and participate in various games, activities, presentations, and enjoy meals with new friends.
You can help ADS clients like Joel by participating in the Golf Outing on June 3 as a sponsor, golfer, patron, or volunteer. Your participation helps cover program and scholarship costs—the cost of services per client averages $84 per day.
