By supporting the Landis Adult Day Services Golf Outing, you help aging adults who need daytime support and care. Participants enjoy meaningful activities and companionship and are assisted with taking medicines and having nutritious meals. You also help family members work or take a break from caregiving.

Just Do It – The Landis Adult Day Services Annual Benefit Golf Outing

When you walk into Landis Adult Day Services it is likely that you will see Doug and that he will wave to you. He always acknowledges others. It’s one of the magnetic qualities that he possesses along with a great sense of humor.

Doug grew up in Lancaster County. He enlisted in the Army at 17 years old and served three years with 15 months in Vietnam. Afterward, he worked in construction for many years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, going to NASCAR races, and hunting with good buddies. He came from a large family and also has two sons and one daughter himself.

Unfortunately, Doug encountered health challenges at the young age of 60. It forced him to retire early. It was hard for him to lose the ability to work and do the things he enjoyed doing for so long. Fortunately, his children found Landis Adult Day Services and he comes every day.

“I am happier being here. There are good people here and I like to interact. I enjoy the food, the field trips, and shopping at the General Store on Landis Homes’ campus. Coming here changed my life. I’m not so lonely anymore,” Doug shared.

Perhaps you know someone like Doug who attends Landis ADS. Through the Landis Adult Day Services Annual Benefit Golf Outing coming up on June 5, you will have the opportunity to support the program and individuals who attend the Landis ADS program. You can participate as a golfer, a patron, or a volunteer.

Your support makes an engaging, life-enriching program available to clients as they face declining health and provides financial resources for those who need assistance.
